Paving the way of emergencies and iPhone 911 calls in iOS 12

With emergency SOS, using Siri to call emergency service, and calling 911 in iOS 12 will be far more easier and discreet. Apple is now making location sharing in emergency calls more secure, and much easier. This results in more accurate information shared to dispatchers, in a flash.

Yesterday, Apple released an article on Newsroom stating that “In iOS 12, your location on iPhone will be securely and automatically shared in 911 calls. Today, only 10% of 911 emergency calls come from landlines, and the others come from cell phones, such as iPhones. With the old, outdated dispatch centers, it can be very difficult for a mobile phone to share his/her location to the dispatcher during a 911 call.” This is significant, as now emergency dispatchers can find where you are instantly, without having to tell them your address. Apple also mentioned that they’ll be partnering up with RapidSOS to simplify and share HELO location information to improve the response time more accurately.
This update will be more useful, as some people may forget to say their location to the dispatcher, or don’t know where they are. Apple is improving the way of saving lives and when an emergency arises. Apple is making a big change in every iOS update. Every update, more usefulness for your iPhone.
