WWDC 18 rumors

There’s many new rumors and outcomes happening next on WWDC, but we have to wait for the event in one day! Here’s a look into the upcoming event: the new iPhone SE, iOS 12, and the new watchOS and macOS.

iOS 12 and the iPhone 5s

First off, let’s start with iOS 12 rumors and the iPhone 5s. While many people were wondering if the iPhone 5s can support the new iOS 12, it can be very likely to be supported. Jonathan Bedard from WebKit Bugzilla ran a couple tests for iOS 12 and the code had shown that the iPhone 5s passed the tests for iOS 12 compatibility. This is useful as it can help predict whether iOS devices can be compatible or not for future iOS versions.
In addition, iOS 12 can have several new features. There could be dark mode, an always on display for iPhone X, more 3D Touch functions, and a notification indicator as tiny enough to fit in the notch. There would be a major redesign in Apple Music, the widgets, and the calendar app. iOS 12 can also have a Live Photo fit into the home screen.

iPhone SE 2 rumors

Now let’s talk about the iPhone SE 2, the upcoming iPhone. Many of the concepts depicted a notch on the front of the iPhone screen like an iPhone X screen. Some even included a seamless, full glass back and/or double camera as what an iPhone X has. There would still be the chamfered aluminum edges, sides, and most likely, the same back as the prior iPhone SE.

watchOS 5

watchOS 5 has several interesting features. There would be third party faces, custom faces that you can make in the Apple Watch app on your paired iPhone, and more complications for more usefulness. There should be improvements on cellular service in the Series 3 Apple Watch, more new faces, and CarPlay for the Apple Watch Series 3 (for those who don’t want to take your iPhone on quick trips). It would be ideal to have a calculator app for the Apple Watch as well.

macOS

Many people were befuddled over what Apple will choose for the new name for the new macOS. Since 2014, on the day of OS X Yosemite’s announcement, Apple is naming every macOS version from California landmarks.
Rumored names include:
macOS Cupertino
macOS Summit (because there was Mac OS X El Capitan, then macOS Sierra, and macOS High Sierra)
macOS Golden Gate Bridge
Anything Apple would name what they want
Many of the concepts depicted an iOS inspired logon screen, icons, and Notification Center. There should be Face ID if the next MacBook Pro or MacBook Air comes out later this year, and AirPlay 2.

The bottom line

At last, Apple should add more functionality into iOS 12 and watchOS 5. They should have the iPhone 5s be the longest iPhone to support 6 iOS versions consecutively, and add more faces for the Apple Watch.
