Apple special event comments

Summary of the Apple special event: September 12th, 2018
The unveiling of the new iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs, Apple Watch Series 4 and new Apple accessories has now passed. Now on the day of Wednesday, September 12th, on 10 am, Tim Cook takes the steps of the new, Steve Jobs Theater. He then announces, “Good morning!” and says “The Apple retail industry has been improving over the years. We’ve been welcoming over 500 million customers every day, and we’ve been reinventing lots of Apple Stores to be like a town square.” Another thing is that he mentioned that “iOS isn’t the only popular operating system of Apple, but it also goes to another operating system, which is always near you. It’s watchOS, for the Apple Watch.”

Now Tim calls up for Jeff Williams to take off the covers of the Apple Watch Series 4. Jeff believes that health tracking is more important in the Apple Watch rather than just style and technology on your wrist. To support this theory, Jeff says, “The Apple Watch Series 4 will now have an ECG monitor, so you can now check what’s going on with your heart. It can check for heart disorders such as irregular heartbeat, atrial fibrillation, and heart attack. It can also be used to detect heart rates that are below or above the average range. (Even though the very high heart rate notifications were around since watchOS 4.) Also, the Apple Watch Series 4 now has only one heart rate sensor, which is much more accurate than 4.” Apple Watch is the very first FDA approved ECG Watch in the US, which involves an electrode-infused Digital Crown to measure your heart rate and ECG with your finger.

Before Jeff moved on to discuss about fall prevention and detection on the new Series 4, he lets the American Heart Association president, Dr. Ivor Benjamin to join the keynote. He discussed about the great benefits Apple Watch has to do with the heart monitoring system, and the functionality of the life-saving techniques Apple Watch can prevent you from a heart attack. (Or even cardio myopathy.)

Now let’s tie it up and get back to Matt. Matt said, "Apple Watch Series 4 has a geometer that can detect and help prevent falls, even after you fell.” I can insist that this can help reduce the risk of deaths related to falls or suicidal events, as the Apple Watch can detect when you’re about to fall down- by feeling the inertial force dispersing towards you. Apple Watch can also detect how hard you fell, and if you can’t get up or move after five seconds, it’ll automatically call 911.  Aside from the health benefits, Apple Watch and watchOS 5 now has more stunning features. There’s some full screen Apple Watch faces made to hug around the curves of the new Apple Watch Series 4 face. The casings of the Apple Watch series 4 is now slightly longer by 2mm, which is 40mm instead of 38mm, and 44mm for 42mm. All Apple Watch bands 38mm and 42mm, are still compatible with the 40 and 44mm cases.  More complications, 2 new breathe Apple Watch faces, and a new gold Apple Watch in stainless steel. With a gold Milanese loop. Prices for the series 4 Apple Watch will start at $499, more than series 3. Available 9.21 for most countries gps versions, and 16 countries gps and cellular.

Second goes for iPhone Xs and Xs Max. The iPhone Xs Max has the powerful A12 Bionic chip and the advanced dual cameras- more than what iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus. Both iPhones consist of 5.8 and 6.5 inch Super Retina displays, and a breakthrough camera, excellent for iPhone photography. The A12 Bionic chip enables much faster Face ID, better and immersive stereo sound, a beautiful, new shiny gold color, and dual SIM cards.
Phil Schiller notes that “The new A12 Bionic chip can handle up to 5 trillion operations per second- more than what the A11 Bionic chip can do.” I agree with him, because A11 Bionic neural engine can only handle 650 billion operations per second. He also mentions, “The neural engine of A12 Bionic will have an image signal processor, depth engine, HEVC decoder and encoder, video processing, 64-bit cpu, Apple performance controller, Secure Enclave, display engine, memory coder, and system cache. There’s high performance fabric, always-on processor, audio subsystem, and a faster storage controller.” That’s why games and Face ID will be better with this years iPhone, with the 7 nanometer and 8 core A12 chip. Portrait Mode pictures will have bokeh effects, smart hdr, and dynamic depth perception.
Phil says that “the massive, new iPhone Xs Max offers the biggest display in an iPhone- more than iPhone 8 Plus. The battery in the iPhone Xs Max has 1.5 more hours of battery life than iPhone X, adding it into the equivalent amount of battery life an Apple Watch Series 4 44mm has.“ The Super Retina displays offer Dolby vision and HDR10, and iOS systemwide color regulators for the best color accuracies in the iPhone. The Xs Max will have a more immersive display with over 3 million pixels, enough to be more than iPhone 8 Plus. And iPhone 7 Plus.

The gold color now joins in the iPhone X series. The glass is now more durable than ever. More scratch resistant than other iPhones, it’s more than the iPhone 8 and iPhone X.  Wireless charging is now faster, and water resistance is now IP68 rated. Phil meant that “the iPhone can be resistant to water up to 2 meters, up to half an hour. It can also be resistant to beer, coffee, drink spills, and other fluids.” Even the regular iPhone X’s has 30 minutes more battery life than iPhone X. Preorders start at September 14th, and released next Friday at September 22nd.

Third, the iPhone Xr depicts a chamfered 7000 series aluminum enclosure, with a back glass in colors silver, space gray, blue, coral, yellow and Product RED. There's wireless charging and most of the same features of the iPhone X, and IPX7 water resistance. The glass back is dyed 7 times to deliver the best and vibrant hues. The new Liquid Retina display offers wide color support and True Tone, and its a little bigger than iPhone X, at 6.1 inches. The glass is precision milled to allow the display to curve down. Backlit display allows the screen to stretch into its corners. Even though there’s still an A12 chip but no dual cameras, the price is cheaper than the regular iPhone X, which starts at $799.
The A12 Bionic chip is the same as iPhone X’s functions. But for the camera, there’s a 12MP wide angle camera with f/1.8 aperture. Bokeh can be added onto photos within the new neural engine, ISP, and software algorithms. There’s Smart HDR to make iPhone photos more defined and vibrant. Due to the lack of dual cameras, Portrait Mode is only available on the front TrueDepth camera.

Rounding up all of the 3 major announcements of what Apple released yesterday, it was more significant than any other Apple event. It’s the second Keynote event taken place in the Steve Jobs Theater, and it was wonderful.
Except for the AirPower. NO AIRPOWER???????? They should release this next month on October..... for the biggest rage made out of Apple fans and journalists.
