HomePod set to be released 18 January in China

HomePod is now released in two Asian countries, which is China and Hong Kong. The HomePod will bring artist of the week, cantopop and mandopop in Apple Music for the Chinese users, including Siri telling stories from the HomePod. There’s also compatibility to play music and audio from QQ Radio, DeDao, iHuman Story, and other Chinese (and Hong Kong) radio stations.

Phil Schiller, an Apple SVP of marketing, has given the answer in the question. He said, “We’re excited to bring HomePod to our customers in mainland China and Hong Kong markets. We can’t wait for them to experience how great it sounds in their home, we think they are going to love it.” Yes, it’s true that the Chinese will love the HomePod now! They’ll have immersive audio around the house, and to listen to Chinese radio every morning. An article about the HomePod in China from Apple Newsroom, mentions that “Ask Siri to play your favorite songs from Apple Music, or play music from many genres including Chinese pop bands.” This implies that HomePod users in China, will gain access to play their favorite music including Chinese songs as well, either Apple Music or from their iPhone. There will be curated albums of popular Asian artists, such as Corsak, Chace, Lucie Cheung, Gong, Dean Ting and Lu Xianghui. There will be an a list album in the Chinese Apple Music as well.

To conclude, the China release of HomePod may raise the disincline of the Apple stock market, as most of the Apple stock has its weakest point in China. People would be more interested in HomePod and the iPhone, and as what Phil Schiller said, that the Chinese will be able to experience HomePod and LOVE IT!
